Who Is Dr. Glaucomflecken?
Dr. Glaucomflecken is the creation of Will Flanary, MD, a practicing ophthalmologist in Oregon. In his one-man sketches he plays every character in the medical system — the insurer’s medical director reading a denial script, the hospital administrator, the private-equity manager, the burned-out doctor, and the patient caught between them.
What They Cover
On AllegedFraud.com we archive Dr. Glaucomflecken’s sketches that document the money machinery of American medicine: insurance denials and prior authorization, private-equity ownership of practices, billing and administrative absurdity, and the drug-pricing pipeline. The format is satire; the mechanisms the sketches dramatize — denial workflows, PE roll-ups, non-compete clauses — are real and documentable. Characterizations of specific companies are his, presented as his commentary.
