The Biggest Storefront Goes Dark

Last updated: October 18, 2026

Peptide Sciences — described across the market as its largest gray vendor — shut down on March 6, 2026. For years it was the default answer to “where does everyone buy this stuff”: a polished U.S.-facing storefront selling unapproved injectable compounds under the “research use only” banner. Its closure is the clearest single marker that the enforcement environment changed.

The Border Number

While the storefronts were being warned and, in the Paradigm case, prosecuted, the supply line was being squeezed at the border: U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized roughly 130,000 vials nationally between October 2025 and August 2026. The Utah indictment alleges Chinese sourcing for clinic-administered compounds, and a 20-state attorneys-general letter led by Alabama (September 18, 2026) pressed the federal government specifically on Chinese suppliers.

What a Shutdown Does and Doesn’t Do

A market this size does not disappear when its largest vendor closes; demand migrates — to smaller sites, to offshore sellers, to the next storefront. That migration is the pattern to watch: post-shutdown sellers inherit customers with less verifiable track record, in a market where the biggest operator’s certificates of analysis culture already produced a federal forgery conviction. Who is checking what is in the vials now is the subject of our watchdog tracker.
