Secret Service Agent Allegedly Leaks VP Security Details to Undercover Journalist

In this video, Nick Shirley presents an undercover investigation into what he alleges is a serious breach of security protocols within the U.S. Secret Service. According to Nick Shirley, an agent assigned to Vice President JD Vance’s detail allegedly disclosed sensitive information about the vice president’s security procedures, travel itineraries, and protective formations to an undercover journalist he met on the dating app Tinder.

Nick Shirley’s investigation begins with the agent, whom he identifies as Tomas Escato, allegedly meeting the undercover journalist in October 2025. According to Nick Shirley, Escato is a holdover from the Biden administration who was originally assigned to protect Vice President Kamala Harris and subsequently transferred to Vice President Vance’s detail. Nick Shirley alleges that Escato, despite signing a non-disclosure agreement with the Secret Service, proceeded to share classified operational information over several months.

According to Nick Shirley’s claims, Escato allegedly disclosed detailed information about shift changes, protective formations, and specific times of vice presidential movements. Nick Shirley further alleges that Escato sent the undercover journalist photographs with embedded location metadata showing Secret Service convoy locations, including images from Joint Base Andrews Air Force Base, King Khaled International Airport in Saudi Arabia, Munich airport in Germany, and what Nick Shirley characterizes as “perhaps most significant,” the location of President Trump’s convoy at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi during a May 2025 state visit.

Nick Shirley claims that Escato also allegedly texted the undercover journalist advance notice of Vice President Vance’s travel plans, specifying upcoming visits to Ohio for four to five days and Florida for one night. According to Nick Shirley, Escato even sent a selfie from inside the Naval Observatory, the vice president’s residence, while on duty.

In the video, Nick Shirley notes that these alleged disclosures may violate Escato’s Secret Service non-disclosure agreement, which Nick Shirley quotes as warning that “unauthorized disclosure, unauthorized retention, or negligent handling of classified information” could damage the United States or be used to advantage by a foreign nation. Nick Shirley also references 18 U.S. Code 793, which addresses the gathering and transmitting of defense information, noting that unlawful possession and communication of photographs related to national defense can result in fines or imprisonment of up to 10 years.

Nick Shirley also observes that Escato expressed political views during these conversations, revealing that he voted for Biden, obtained his citizenship in 2018, and expressed disagreement with the Trump-Vance administration’s immigration policies. Nick Shirley emphasizes that while Escato has a First Amendment right to hold these opinions, the primary concern is the alleged unauthorized disclosure of operational security details.

Nick Shirley frames this investigation within the context of previous Secret Service security lapses in 2024, including the incident in Butler, Pennsylvania, which led to the resignation of the Secret Service director. He contacted the Secret Service a full week in advance of publication to allow for any necessary security adjustments.

In Nick Shirley’s Own Words

“I signed paperwork, so if I don’t have to get out information, I never do, otherwise I get in trouble.”

“We’ll have at least—gives away vital high-level security information to our undercover journalist.”

“When he’s like walking, like where are you? Just following a group of us.”

Nick Shirley documents an alleged Secret Service agent sharing sensitive security details, location metadata, and vice presidential travel plans with an undercover journalist via a dating app.
